I'm off to Oz!

I landed a dream job at premiere VFX/animation studio Animal Logic. This marks the culmination of more than 5 years' worth of plans, hopes and ambitions! It's been a dream of mine to work on full-fledged, long-form animated features for a very,very long time! I just didn't figure I would have to travel half way around the world to do it! :-)

AL is a top class company. The people I've been dealing with are supercool, the work and the talent is outstanding (speaks for itself really: website) and the place... well, I've yet to hear anybody say anything bad about Sydney. (Well there was that one bloke who said it was too expensive...)

I'll be working there as a mid level comp and lighting artist. Perfect really! :-) I am so excited it's not even funny. No, really, it's not even funny.

I start working August 3rd and my contract runs for a year. I'm hoping to get there a week or two early and take in the sights and catch up with my old mate The Alfmeister. It's been too long matey! ;-)

And it's about time. I love Cape Town but honestly this experience is not going to be available locally for some time. It's simply out of this world. Quite literally.

So forgive me if you don't hear much from me for the next year. It's going to be all about elbow grease and midnight oil! I plan to put my head down and make more than I can of the opportunity! 

Oh, and I'll keep you posted on the job itself but I am unable to divulge much. I could but then I would have to kill myself.
