With a great deal more experience under my belt, and, I hope, a wee bit wiser, the time has come for me to start directing. It's been a while in coming but, looking back,  the past few years, since 2004 really, have all been in preparation of this next step.

I remember coming straight out of college in 1992, and standing in front of Cas Odendaal's desk, at what was then called Sixth Street Studios, and brazenly announcing my intent, at the ripe age of 18, to become a director! I'll never forget his reaction: he leaned back in his chair, put his hands behind his back and, with a knowing smile, said, "Perhaps you should start with something in post-production, like editing..."

So it was that I began my career in post, and over more than a decade there have been many up's and many down's, but not for a second, any regrets.

Now it's time for the next adventure. I'm looking forward to working with my old friends and colleagues, many of whom have been instrumental in my growth and encouragement, and I'm also looking forward to meeting and working with new people, new talent and new technologies.
